Hotel Spa Leadership
Running a spa inside a hotel: the owner, the brand, the GM, the asset manager — and how the spa earns its place on the P&L.

A hotel spa has four masters — the owner who paid for it, the operator or brand whose name is on the door, the general manager whose P&L it sits inside, and the guest. Most spa managers are trained to serve the last and are surprised by the first three. Hotel Spa Leadership is eight weeks on the first three: how the spa is judged inside a hotel, what the owner and asset manager actually want to see, and how a spa director earns capital, headcount and a seat at the morning meeting.
Who it is for
Hotel spa managers moving to cluster or regional roles; F&B and rooms directors given the spa; brand-standards teams.

What you leave with
A board-ready spa strategy paper for a property you name, reviewed by a serving hotel spa director.
Who teaches it
A serving hotel spa director from a resort group and a hotel asset manager who reviews spa P&Ls monthly. Seminars alternate between the two views; the friction between them is the syllabus.
The capstone
You name a property — your own or one you can study — and write a spa strategy paper: positioning, three-year revenue path, capital asks, team structure and the KPIs you will report. It is reviewed by both faculty and returned with the asset manager's questions in the margin. Graduates have used it in promotion interviews and owner presentations.
Prerequisites
Two years managing a spa, or the Spa Management Certificate plus one year. This programme assumes you can already run a spa day; it teaches you to run the spa's place in the hotel.

Questions
Is this the same as the Spa Director Diploma?
No. The Diploma on the Institute of Spa Management is a six-month generalist programme with a full business plan. This is an eight-week specialist programme on the hotel context, and counts as elective credit toward the Diploma.
Can a hotel group run it privately?
Yes — private cohorts of eight or more with the group's own P&L format and brand standards in the case material.
